1. Name of award : The 5th AAAP Animal Science Award
2. Donor : Hans' Animal Life Science Foundation.
3. Nature of award
A monetary award of $3,000 US plus a travel grant and an appropriate memento or plaque, to be presented once every two years at the opening ceremony of the AAAP Animal Science Congress.
4. Purpose
To recognize and stimulate distinguished service to animal production internationally in AAAP region.
5. Eligibility for nomination
To be eligible for the award, a nominee shall have made a meritorious scientific contribution by way of teaching, research, of other service to animal production over a period of 20 or more years, and shall have been nominated by 2 members of AAAP council or section editor of the AJAS. Particular attention will be paid to the international significance of the contribution.
6. Award Selection Committee
1) The Selection Committee will consist of the Secretary-General of AAAP plus 4 members appointed by Secretary-General and President of AAAP.
2) The Selection Committee may reject all nominees when, in their opinion, no worthy candidate has been nominated.
3) One or more awardees may be selected.
7. Materials to be supplied by nominator
1) Three completed copies of the AAAP Animal Science Award Nomination Form.
2) Six copies of a dossier that contains the following material
a. Biography of the nominee.
b.

List of publications, courses taught, and other pertinent credentials.

c. Summary statement documenting accomplishments and outlining the major contributions to international animal production on which the nomination is based.
3) One copy of a citation of approximately 500 words suitable for presentation at the AAAP Animal Science Congress.
